Police Hospital Dialysis Centre, Accra, Ghana.
The Police Hospital Dialysis Centre is a specialized kidney care facility located at the Ghana Police Hospital in Accra, Ghana. It was established through the efforts of Sustainable Health Education and Interventions (SHEILD), a Ghanaian non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare delivery and supporting the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SHEILD led the initiative by bringing together government institutions, corporate organizations, and development partners to address the growing burden of chronic kidney disease in Ghana. Through fundraising, advocacy, and stakeholder collaboration, the organization successfully facilitated the establishment and commissioning of the dialysis centre.

The story of the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital Dialysis Centre is one of vision, collaboration, and unwavering commitment. It all began on a sunny afternoon when the directors of Sustainable Health Education and Intervention (SHIELD), a dedicated non-profit organisation, gathered to chart their next major project. Inspired by their successful leadership in establishing the Ghana Police Service Hospital Dialysis Centre, the team resolved to intensify Ghana’s fight against chronic kidney disease.
Upper West Regional Hospital Dialysis Centre, Wa, Ghana.
The commissioning of the Upper West Regional Hospital Dialysis Centre marked a major step toward improving specialist healthcare services in northern Ghana. The facility was established through the collaborative efforts of Sustainable Health Education and Interventions (SHEILD) and its partners to ensure that patients suffering from kidney disease have access to quality dialysis treatment without the need to travel long distances.
Nsawam Female Prisons Medical Diagnostics Centre, Nsawam, Ghana.
The establishment of the Nsawam Female Prisons Medical Diagnostics Centre represents a significant milestone in advancing healthcare services for incarcerated women in Ghana. Spearheaded through the support of Sustainable Health Education and Interventions (SHEILD) and its strategic partners, the project was conceived to improve access to timely and quality diagnostic healthcare within the correctional facility.
